Rhonda Dimma, CDTA, FIS

Rhonda has always shared her energy, enthusiasm and passion for teaching. As a teenager, she taught with JCB Danceworks in Richmond Hill, until 2009 when she decided to open her own studio with her sister in Newmarket. Her dance training began at the age of 5 in all disciplines; jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical and modern. As her skills developed, she joined the first ever competitive team at the studio and participated in numerous competitions throughout Ontario. Rhonda has performed all over York Region in many variety shows, fundraising events, including the Ontario Summer Games and at the International Boat Show. She has also completed her Associate and Full Member Certification from the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, while also passing Grades one through to Intermediate Dance Examination with honors.

Rhonda continued her dance education while pursuing a career in Journalism attending Radio Broadcasting at Humber College and Broadcast Television Journalism News at Fanshawe College. Thereafter, Rhonda went on to work for Rogers Television and landed a Hosting and Producing role for York Region Living. Her show quickly became one of the most popular programs on the station winning several awards.

Since the fall of 2008, Rhonda has been instrumental in launching the “Healthy Schools” Program in elementary schools across York Region. Along with the Town of Richmond Hill and the York Region District School Board, Rhonda has been implementing a Hip Hop dance class at schools such as Crosby Heights, Ross Doan and Father Henry.

Recently, Rhonda has obtained her Fitness Instructor Specialist certification with Can Fit Pro, and her Dance Grooves Certification with DivaGirl Fitness. She also has been attending the Annual Dance Teacher's Summit in New York to continually learn and grow as a dancer and teacher.

Jenny Cairney, CDTA, HBA, FIS, YES, EWTY3500-RYT 200

Jenny has grown up surrounded by dance; she has always been “a mover and a shaker.” After her awaking to dance at the young age of 3, Jenny explored numerous dance disciplines including tap, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, modern, and ballet. She danced competitively for 8 years and began teaching at 14.  In addition to passing her Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association Jazz exams with honors, Jenny earned her Associates Teacher's Jazz Certification by the CDTA in 2000.

Jenny also immersed herself in the dance industry by majoring a Ballet and Modern at Unionville High School’s Arts York Dance program. She performed with UHS’s Dance Access Company, earned credits as a Teacher's Assistant, and was awarded a Dance Scholarship to pursue teaching dance as a career. One of the highlights of Jenny’s dance career was being selected to join the cast of the “Dancer’s For Life Aids Benefit.” The show was held at the Hummingbird Centre (now Sony Centre) and she performed alongside dance legends including the late Gregory Hines, Rex Harrington and Evelyn Hart and worked under the direction of Chorographer Anne-Marie Woods.

Moving to London, Ontario to pursue her Post-Secondary Education at UWO didn’t end Jenny’s exploration of dance. Throughout University, Jenny was a dance instructor at numerous studios, participated in the Annual OHM Dance Fashion show, and was frequently employed by the Board of Education as a Guest Teacher specializing in Dance for the Physical Education program at various elementary and high schools. 

Once she returned to Toronto, Jenny focused on her career in Marketing Management while furthering her dance education completing dance courses at George Brown College. Jenny also developed a fulfillment in yoga and achieved her Yoga Exercise Specialist (YES) Certificate, Kids Yoga Teacher Training (KYTT) Certification, and Fitness Instructor Specialist (FIS) with Can Fit Pro in 2009. In June 2010, Jenny graduated from Yoga Teachers Training (EWTY3500-RYT 200) at East to West Yoga in Toronto. She continues to practice all forms of yoga to keep her “zen.”

Together, Jenny and Rhonda attend various conferences including the Dance Teachers Summit in New York, the Canadian Dance Expo and The Toronto Dance Teachers Expo in Toronto. 

Most recently, Jenny became a member of the Professional Adjudicator’s Alliance, and has begun adjudicating various Competition since 2016. She was certified as a Salsa Babies & Salsa Tots Instructor running those specialized classes in her studio. Jenny has expanded her teaching curriculum to Public Schools in York Region and her Choreography contribution with local theatre companies.  Jenny has also become a Certified Barre Instructor through the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association and a Certified Tap Instruction through the Performing Arts Educators of Canada
